It’s Volunteer Week 2023 so what better time could there be to welcome introduce Aupeer’s first volunteers and our new volunteer progamme!
This year we have been working to establish our new volunteer programme, creating two volunteer peer support facilitation roles. Being able to offer these opportunities is a transformational step for Aupeer and for the support we offer.
Please join us in welcoming Katie and Anna Aupeer's new volunteer facilitators. Anna and Katie attended our peer support groups initially as peers before moving into the facilitator role and have joined us to support the running of our Thursday and Saturday group.
They bring a wealth of lived experience to Aupeer and we are truly fortunate to have them contributing both their time and knowledge. Anna and Katie have completed the autism peer support training delivered by ImROC funded by Health Education England. You can find out more about them and the team on our About page.
In the first few months Katie and Anna will be getting used to their roles co-facilitating our Thursday and Saturday groups. Our aim is that our volunteer programme will not just provide opportunities for our peers, but strategically give us the capacity to scale up and begin new groups to meet the demand we experience for Aupeer’s peer support.
